1) Technical Symposium and Convention dinner of the Chinese-American Engineersand Scientists Association of Southern California (CESASC) on April 26

Dear CESASC members and friends,

On April 26, 2008 at Hilton Los Angeles Airport, a whole day event including aluncheon, a Technical Symposium, and a Convention dinner banquet will be heldwhich marks the 46th anniversary of the Chinese-American Engineers andScientists Association of Southern California (CESASC). "I appreciate CESASCfor your commitment to continuing America's legacy of progress. Your effortscontribute to the brighter future and embody the spirit of Americaninnovation." President George W. Bush wrote to CESASC last year.

This event features more than a dozen speakers that covers a wide variety oftopics in (12:45pm-4:00pm) : 

* Entrepreneurship and High Tech Startup
* Life Sciences
* Life Style
* Multimedia Communication
* Nanoengineered Medicine

A special panel (4:00pm) featuring 3 successful job recruiters will bringvaluable advice and services for those who are in the job market.

A graduate student experience sharing session (12:45pm) will dedicated to thosewho are in or will be in advanced degree programs.

CESASC will recognize four distinguished Chinese-Americans engineers andscientists who have made significant contributions and achievements to major USindustries and world science and technology advances. Their estimated time ofappearance is as follows:

11:30am: Dr. Robert Lin, Professor of Physics and Director of Space SciencesLaboratory, UC Berkeley. His keynote speech at the Luncheon is: "High EnergyRadiation from the Solar System's Most Powerful Explosions."

1:45pm: Dr. Vincent Gau, Chief Executive Officer and President of Genefluidics,Inc. He will share his entrepreneurship experience at the Entrepreneurship andHigh Tech Startup session.

5:30pm: Press conference featuring awardees Mr. Wing Chao (ExecutiveVice-President, Walt Disney Imagineering) , Dr. Robert Lin, Dr. Terence Tao(Professor of Mathematics, UCLA, Fields Medal Prize Winner), and Ms. Shirley Ho(CESASC Service Award recipient, former CESASC President and Board Chair). Youare welcome to attend and ask questions.

6:00pm: Dinner registration and silent auction area. All awardees will appearand mingle with dinner banquet attendees.

7:00pm: Mr. Wing Chao of Walt Disney will give the keynote speech "Imagination+ Engineering = Imagineering" at the Convention dinner banquet.

The lunch ticket is $20 (or $10 for students and those attending the dinnerbanquet). The afternoon seminars, panels, and press conference are free. TheConvention dinner banquet ticket is $65.

The venue is Hilton Los Angeles Airport at 5711 W. Century Blvd., Los Angeles,CA 90045. Use hotel self-parking garage for parking. Pick up a parking voucherfor discounted $8 per day self-parking at the CESASC event registration desks.
