We would like to cordially invite you to attend the 2007 Annual Convention ofPeking University Alumni Association of Southern California (PUAASC), whichwill be held simultaneously with the 3rd Conference of Peking University AlumniAssociation of North America at Pacific Palms Conference Resort in Los Angeleson October 13, 2007. Your support of this event is greatly appreciated.

Keynote speakers of this convention include:

    * Peking University President, Biologist, Prof. Zhihong Xu
    * Prof. Clayton Dube, Director of the U.S.-China Institute at University ofSouthern California.

Prestigious guests also include representatives from over ten majorPekingUniversity alumni associations in North America.

A fund raising dinner will be hosted by Peking University Education Foundation(USA) (PKUEF) in the evening immediately following the convention. Thisfundraising dinner is to support two worthy causes: first, to support theconstruction of a world class sports complex in PekingUniversity to host the2008 Olympic Table Tennis matches, and second, to raise funds to supportPekingUniversity students from financially disadvantaged families. See theattachments for detailed donation options. Prof. Tian Yin from PekingUniversitywill give a talk at the dinner on the recently enacted Property Law of China.

$110: Support the PekingUniversity Education Foundation (PKUEF) FundraisingDinner

You will be invited to the Peking University Education Foundation FundraisingDinner on October 13, 2007, together with the PKU delegation led by the PekingUniversity President Prof. Xu Zhihong. Each table (10 seats) of this donationlevel shall raise sufficient funds to support one low-income student for ayear.

$500: Donate a Seat to the PKU Olympic Sports Complex

PekingUniversity is undertaking the construction of the PKU Sports Complex forthe Olympic Pingpong matches in 2008. To fully embody the Olympic spirit ofParticipation, PekingUniversity has decided to launch a worldwide fundraisingcampaign to construct a world-class Olympic Pingpong Gymnasium. Donorscontributing $ 500 will have their names inscribed on plates embedded ingymnasium seats. This donation will also grant you a seat to the PKUEF fundraising dinner.

$600: Easy the Life for a Student

Approximately 28.5% of the PKU students come from financially handicappedfamilies and 8.1% come from families below the Beijing Poverty Line (RMB 380per capita/month). A grant of $600 will be sufficient to help a student from alower income family with the daily expense in a school year. This donation willalso grant you a seat to the PKUEF fund raising dinner.

$1100: Support a Student and Donate a Seat to the PKU Olympic Sports Complex

You will also be invited to the Peking University Education FoundationFundraising Dinner as a Special Guest on October 13, 2007.

$6000: Establish and Name a Scholarship

Scholarships are both material and spiritual encouragement for the youngtalents. We welcome donations from our alumni and friends to set upscholarships at PekingUniversity. The donor may name the scholarship when thedonation amount surpasses $6000. This donation will also grant you a seat tothe PKUEF fund raising dinner.
